Civilian Lab Bottle Pod

Boost your camera six inches off the roof of your car with the Civilian Labs Bottle Pod. The Bottle Pod Cap screws onto a full water bottle and then functions like a monopod to stabilize your camera. You could easily make one of these at home with a bolt and old bottle top, which would be a good idea if the whole product wasn’t such a fantastic waste of time. Besides, I’m sure I’d accidentally throw it away the moment that bottle was empty.

Now that is dorky especially considering that bottled water is the new Hummer.
Besides, that thing is going to fall over unless the bottle is full. Even then I wouldn’t trust it.

Now, if Nalgene made some sort of adapter for their products I’d be interested.
However I just got one of those Gorillapod’s. It rocks!

A small digi-camera is very light, so a heavy bottle of water will not tip unless someone kicks it; same with a regular tripod. I think it’s a good idea. It also fits in your pocket and you just grab a bottle from a quickie mart when you need it.
