Spyder Launching Summer Clothes Line in Spring 2008
By Rocky Thompson on July 2nd, 2007

The company famous for its rad cow-print speed suits is jumping into the summer clothing market. It’s the same move we saw from Burton a couple years ago, so we shouldn’t be surprised that a ski company’s a few years behind the curve. Spyder’s summer line called Freeryde (pronounced Freeride) covers men and women and includes at least two styles of men’s shants. They’re marketing it as downhill-mounting-bike-inspired apparel and selling some cycling body armor alongside the casual clothes.
How you say that word fleetide?
Hope the stuff is better looking than the winter line.
Rocky, I am pretty sure the rad- cow print speed suits are actually Descente. Another Ski company with an equally crappy summer line.
Shants = Wrong
I’m with you on the shants, is it because they are mens clothing that they can not be called capris?
Correct. It’s a thinly veiled attempt to make Man-pris socially acceptable. Just Say No.
line extensions never work not even for Burton. How is Rossignols summer line doing? I thought so.

manpris wearing dudes probably spend more money than most.
I question spyders’s outdoor push… but steez and big bucks backing them seem to win out “freekwyntly.” Is it the east coast that buys in?
