There’s something about the spring-loaded look of the Waldmeister Bike that makes me nervous to ride it. It looks like the bike has an ejection seat that’s activated by bumping into trees or cars. Waldmeister makes their frame nearly 100 thin wooden layers bonded together with special glue. No matter how seductive it looks, you have to count on solid tubes and five pounds of epoxy putting a dent in your neck when you carry it over downed trees.
