Kryptonite New York Fahgettaboudit U-Lock
By Rocky Thompson on June 23rd, 2007You’ll think twice about throwing your bike lock through the rear window of a minivan that cuts you off if it’s the Kryptonite New York Fahgettaboudit U-Lock. The burly lock’s 18mm hardened steel shackle and double deadbolt could cave in someone’s head. It weighs so much that it’ll pull your pants down when it’s stuck in your back pocket, and a replacement costs $90. The lock is burly, no doubt about it, but you’re better off sticking to the lighter, easier to handle Evolution Mini. If your bike is so nice that you need to upgrade from the Evo Mini to the New York, then you shouldn’t be leaving it locked up outside anyway.

It’s not that my bike is worth very much, I’m just tired of it getting stolen.
Hey Rocky - glad you like ‘the baby,’ for the most part. But, if you want something a lot less beefy and live in a low crime area, check out the new KryptoLok Mini that just debuted on the website, too. It will not pull down your pants.

I purchased this lock after a new build of a pretty expensive keirin bicycle, and I might have to downgrade to the mini. This thing is so heavy and beefy.
But if that is what you are looking for then by all mans, I cannot see anyone getting through this thing.
