Ex Officio’s latest brand extension is a line of pastel-colored gardening clothes called MUMZ. The apparel comes with the same embedded insect repellent as their hiking and camping BUZZ OFF brand. I’m not sure if it’s sexist of me to say the aprons, butterfly bandanas, and sun bucket hats look like they’re strictly for women, or whether it’s sexist of Ex Officio to make a gardening line with all women’s and kids’ products. Maybe they’ll have a cooking and cleaning line next—that one would be easier to pin down.  On the other hand, it is called MUMZ, and there’s really nothing to prevent guys from wearing the Ex Officio brand BUZZ OFF clothes when they want to plant some petunias in the window box.

What “real man” would wear gloves anyway. pshaw! What real man would wear a garden apron? A special garden hat! C’mon. New! Not on your life. My gardening clothes are the oldest I have - the most comfortable and probably the least stylish of anything ever known or invented by woman. They despair when I arrive but cheer when I pull out the shovel to do their digging. Stylish - sexist - you betcha!
