If I wanted to lighten my backpack by throwing out useless tools, this Pacific Outdoor Stove Seater would be the first thing to go—well, maybe second after my stuffed football. Pacific Outdoor makes the Stove Seater as a place to rest your canister stove to prevent radiant heat from melting snow. Tree bark—or nothing—works just as well, but at least Pacific Outdoor added backgammon and chess/checkers boards to the backs. If I was trying to lighten my backpack, the chess set would have to be the third thing I left at home.
