Short-Sleeve Down Jacket
By Rocky Thompson on April 23rd, 2007Mont Bell can call this the U.L. Down Inner Half Sleeve Jacket all they want—we all know that it’s a short-sleeve down jacket. It sounds like some kind of outdoorsy “screen doors on a battleship†proverb, but it’s actually not too bad of an idea. It only weighs 6 ounces and sells for $120. It’s warmer than a vest and more packable than a jacket, but you have to limit it to an underlayer since walking around in this outfit would make you look like a Grade-A nimrod.
I’m not gonna lie, it may be functional and light, but damn that’s the ugliest lookin’ thing ever.
Do they make a down pair of shorts?
Agreed, it’s uglay. However, I did see a girl wearing a more fashionably cut short-sleeve puffer jacket that actually looked covetable. It was nipped in the waist and meant to be worn with a sweater.
I guess it falls in the same category as Ugg boots worn in the summer - weird, seasonally-inappropriate gear.
