Gatorade Erodes Teeth Faster than Coke and Red Bull
By Rocky Thompson on April 23rd, 2007While people bang their heads against the wall debating whether the Florida Gators stole the idea for Gatorade from FSU’s politically correct “Seminole Firewater,†some research is indicating that Gatorade rots your teeth faster than Coke. According to a University of Iowa study, Gatorade destroys enamel on extracted teeth more quickly than sugar-rich Red Bull or Coke, which is bad news for all the people who soak their extracted teeth in energy drinks. Energy drinks like Gatorade are more erosive than soda, but that doesn’t necessarily mean they’re harder on teeth—just try not to soak them.
