Battery-Powered Wetsuits
By Rocky Thompson on April 16th, 2007Surfers in the Great Lakes might not need to smear Vaseline all over their faces to prevent frostbite if they pick up one of these wetsuits. The Rip Curl H-Bomb uses a couple Li-Ion batteries lodged in the “tramp stamp†tattoo area of your lower back to heat your core. Two settings warm your upper back and let you suffer freezing water longer than you could normally handle. The H-Bomb’s been out since fall, and so far none of the batteries have spontaneously burst into flames.
