A lightweight, nearly frictionless shifting system would be nice, but at $2000 it’s a little on the pricey side. The Germany company 5rot makes these hydraulic shifters and derailleurs for that guy who’s sick of having his $5000 mountain bike look like all the other $5000 mountain bikes.
If the only thing this startup company is selling are $2000 shifting systems, they shouldn’t be around too long. Just wait for a going out of business sale if you really need hydraulic shifting.

I suspect even the smallest bubble would throw off the shifting no?
I am a little fed up with winney snots complaining about small company built expensive products like this being hoitie toitie. I am not rich, especially considering where I live in comparison to my pay check. But we all (American cyclists) probably have bikes that would seem outragiously expensive to the majority of people in the world that live on just one or two dollars a day. I think it is wonderfull that a small ambitios company has developed and is producing a product such as this. I may not be able to justify it for myself but I am glad that some one out there is able too. A lot of the time you really do get what you pay for. Just think if all the great products that were/are expensive at first are admired and puchased with gratitude for there incredible inginuity, maybe the people who develop these wonderfull things will have the means to make other great things. Keep an open mind people and stop the hating.
