The British company Taut claims to have the first energy drink free from preservatives, sweeteners, flavorings, and colorings. Most energy drinks use sodium to help your body hydrate, but Taut figures you get enough sodium from the potato chips you’re drinking Taut to chase down in the first place. Wasn’t organic Yerba Mate around before Taut? Well, who really cares who was first? I hope Taut comes out with an all-natural energy gel—it’d be interesting to see what that synthetic paste would look like as real food.

Meh. Too european. This drink had better mix with Vodka or something, or it will rapidly become the hauty metrosexual of energy drinks. Get caught drinking this in a club, and people will ask if you got lost looking for the Moby concert.
But Taut is a sports drink - not an energy drink. There’s a difference. Sports drinks basically put back all the good stuff you loose when exercising. Energy drinks just do what it says on the tin - which is why it’s got caffeine in it.
