The cycling apparel company Swobo is launching a line of single-speed and 3-speed urban bikes. Instead of building their bikes with Shimano Coasting components and going after the market of untapped bikers, they’re trying to design bikes for a specific urban market. This quote from Dirt Rag’s interview with Swobo guru Sky Yaeger says a lot about the market they’re going after:

I used the coaster brake so you can ride with one hand on the bar and still brake. Say you’re coming home from the bar with a 12-pack… you can carry it and still slam on the brakes.
