A friend of mine preparing for a long backpacking trip once told me that instant oatmeal has been cooked and re-cooked so many times that it has the nutritional value of paper. Instead of ditching oatmeal altogether, he would go to co-ops and buy big bags of raw oatmeal alongside farmers buying fertilizer and selling grain.
In that spirit, Seattle-made Simbree Energy Bars are made from raw oatmeal that we can all hope hasn’t been contaminated with fertilizer at the co-op. It even comes in handy flavors, so you don’t have to give up the best part of instant oatmeal.

Simbree is excellent!! The bars and granola are tasty and very, very healthy. I would recommend visiting the website and purchasing Simbree now. Hurry! You don’t know what you’re missing.
Comparing SIMBREE, to oats that come from a bin next to the bin full of fertilizer, is like comparing raw oats to oats that have already been through the horse, and we all know what that is! SIMBREE makes real food from nuts , grains, and seeds with some honey to make for a great snack in my desk drawer, my pocket while biking, or in my pack while hiking. I don’t, however, think you can get it at feed stores while picking up your fertilizer.
I was hoping that Rocky was referring to the grassroots nature of the product, made in a natural and spontaneous way without the need to add vitamins etc. In other words “What’s in there is in there, because it’s in there.”
Thanks for the nice comments.
I love the bites and bars. I’m ashamed to say that sometimes I’ll eat the whole bag in one sitting:) Great product. Brian
