Alchemy Goods’ story is turning useless into useful. They make their messenger bags from recycled bike inner tubes and seatbelts—they even use the old metal parts from seatbelts to make bottle openers. Their original messenger bag goes for $148, but you’ll have to buy the recycled Schrader valve zipper pulls separately. Alchemy Good’s messenger bags look a little like the Pedro’s inner tube bags that flopped a long time ago, but AG did a much better job of styling these things out.

Ecological Designs Green Gear is a Boulder-based company that builds messenger bags from recycled highway billboards and truck inner tubes.
