North Face Pulls One Out

By Rocky Thompson on September 4th, 2006

While the premier pieces in the North Face Snowsports line are a total joke (the unvented Down Apogee or “Steep Tech” anything, really), they did manage to make one jacket that absolutely rules it for most days on the mountain and it’s even reasonably priced. The North Face Verdi is a 600-fill down jacket with a waterproof-coated shell. It’s well articulated for skiing and incredibly comfortable. You also don’t need to layer under it, and since down works for a wide range of temps you can use it from the arctic Northeast to mild Utah.
