When Sea Kayaker Magazine gives you the Reader’s Choice Award for Best Camping Shelter you say “thanks” and quietly go about your business. It’s a nice gesture, but it’s not like you won the Nobel Prize for backcountry gear. Only a few hundred people probably voted on this thing, and it’s not wise to hitch your wagon to Sea Kayaker’s rising star. Sadly, Hennessy Hammocks is still flaunting their 2005 award like one-hit wonder carrying around a Grammy. I suppose it’s a little harder to get awards when all of your products are really just minor variations of the same thing—it would be like Taco Bell wining a cooking award.
