Recumbent Bikes, Meet Kayak Geeks

By Rocky Thompson on August 12th, 2006

The new US company WaveWalker calls their namesake boat a hydroped but don’t think it will give you any divine water-walking skills. This recumbent-bike-style boat pedals through the water and steers with a right-hand joy stick that also raises the prop when you want to beach it.

The bad news is that the WaveWalker falls under normal DUI laws, the good news is that it’s available in camo.

Hi Rocky-tried to go on to wavewalkers website but cant find it anywhere. A few years back I almost bought one but wound up with a Hobie Adventure Island. I like the Mirage drive but it is slow. I think the boat could use a better seat and handles as well. Wavewalkers old website was terrible-it didnt show enough pictures of the boat. I actually spoke to Harry Howard (and his wife) for several minutes by phone some time ago and they said they were probably going to sell the company.
